- Tensions arise due to the different needs and interests that need to be addressed in a small country like Singapore.
- As Singapore’s population continues to grow, more and more land will be required for living spaces such as recreational and housing areas.
- Citizens may not always be able to come to an agreement on what is good for society.
- As the government considers citizen feedback in its decision-making, it has to make decisions based on the best interests of society.
- Prioritisation is needed, which may mean that not everyone’s interests could be addressed effectively.
- In doing so, the government may also not be able to meet all of the demands in society due to the limited amount of resources Singapore has.
